About DbDen

DbDen is a free database name generator for developers who would rather be building than bikeshedding names.

Naming a database is a small decision with a long tail: the name ends up in connection strings, backup jobs, dashboards and incident threads. DbDen removes the friction — pick a naming style (snake_case, PascalCase, camelCase or kebab-case), add a prefix or environment suffix, and get a batch of convention-friendly candidates instantly.

The tool runs 100% in your browser. There is no signup, no server round-trip and no tracking — the word lists and the random number generation (crypto.getRandomValues) all live in the page itself. Your generated names never leave your device.

Alongside the generator you will find practical guides: what makes a good database name, naming conventions by engine and name examples. The suggestions are starting points, not reserved identifiers — always verify a name is free on your server and follows your database engine's rules before using it in production.
